Practice profile
Stephen Martlew Landscape Architecture has been based in Central Manchester since 1995. Since 2003 the practice has been based in the Ancoats regeneration area of Central Manchester and is a registered practice of the Landscape Institute.
The practice has a creative, design led approach, emphasising the creation of meaningful places with sensitivity to the needs of client and end users. The practice has a track record of projects for a variety of clients from, social housing providers to private individuals, commercial clients and community groups.
Projects currently range in budget from around £20,000 up to £5m. We aim to work with clients who want to produce something special with thought innovation and imagination rather than standardised solutions. Each project represents an individual challenge and our aim is to explore the full potential of each site and project brief.
The practice has received several awards including a Landscape Institute Award in 2001 for Urban Renaissance for the 'Urban Jungles' study for Manchester's Northern Quarter.
The practice is based in Ancoats in Central Manchester and has a relaxed, creative studio environment with a stable team of individuals which has grown gradually over the last 8 years.
