LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY CENTENARY COMPETITION.
1997 with Duncan Ecob.
The proposals aimed to extend recreational uses from the town into the surrounding countryside,in ways which linked creatively and conceptually with the historical development of Letchworth as one of the earliest Garden Cities.
STOCKPORT CREMATORIUM GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE
Awarded the Robertson Prize in the 1986 Phoenix Awards. The project expresses the cultural, spiritual &biological aspects of death & mourning through imagery & elements such as Granite walls,Landform ,water & planting . These evoke ,death mourning , rebirth & a sense of the emotional purity of grief through their form &spatial arrangement.
MONTENEY LEARNING CENTRE SHEFFIELD
2002 Consultant Landscape Architects on a project team headed by Chapman Robinson Architects Landscape design of new resource Centre and masterplanning links to adjacent public spaces and shopping area. The team was appointed after a national competition run by the R.I.B.A
ART INTO LANDSCAPE 1988
The scheme was shortlisted, highly commended and publicly exhibited. The objective was to develope the site : a former open cast coal mine as a park for the local community with a series of spaces relating to different age groups & interests.
1988 with I.R. Simpson Associates Architects.
Project for an office and warehouse . Involved in the overall site planning process . The submission was highly commended & published in the Architects Journal.
1991 with Adrian Welsh.
THE GRAND MOSQUE OF MUSCAT
for Sami Musawi Architects 1993. Limited design competition by invitation to design a mosque complex for the Sultan of Oman. Involved with site planning & detailed design of garden areas with a specialist Islamic Architect.Second Prize.
THE CITADEL AYR.
1993 with David Britch Architect. An urban design competition to redevelope a former dock area of a Scottish seaside town next to an historic citadel.
