SMLA were appointed in 2009 to develop a master plan for the park which drew on consultation carried out by the friends of Copperas Field.
Since then the group has secured funding to progress the project to achieve planning permission which was achieved in 2011.Funding for a natural play space was secured in 2013 .The project was completed in December 2014 with a budget of £75k.
The project has been completed in partnership with the friends of Copperas Field and Tameside Council
