A new housing project for the Ancoats area of Manchester .
The Project consists of an apartment block with 45 apartments next to the Rochdale Canal together with 23 new affordable houses for Great Places Housing Association, designed by Buttress Architects. The project includes private gardens,and a residents garden to the rear of the apartments with a public space at the entrance to the apartments facing the canal.
Phase 1 consisting of the individual houses was completed in Spring 2024.The houses are all eqipped with Air sourced heat pumps and electric car charging points.The site is a former industrial brownfield site which has lain empty for around 50 years.Budget £ 19.5 million
The apartments were completed in December 2025. The project has been shortlisted for the Sociial Housing Development of the Year in the North West Residential Property Awards.
